Merry Christmas! Today, 25 December, is the day we celebrate the birth of Christ. May He receive our love and our all in everything we do and say; our walk and our talk - may it be totally acceptable in His eyes. Here in our home, we will have a birthday cake and celebrate His birthday with our SA family. It's been such a good tradition being taught by our son and his wife to their children - the reason for the season is Jesus' birth.
We have another precious child with a birthday today, 20 December 2008. Happy Birthday to our Number One daughter, Jane. You may wonder why I call her our Nr. 1 girl, when we have two others. We waited 25 years for this girl and that was a long time and she was the first to become a member of our family - so in my book, that makes her NUMBER 1! We are proud of you Jane and love you so very much! Keep serving the Lord with all your might and draw closer to Him each second of every day! His way is the only way. May this day be very special to you, as you are to us.
Happy Birthday to our Special Grandson, Donnie. Today is his 21st birthday. We love you Donnie and want you to know that you are in our constant prayers. May you allow God to draw you closer to His side each and every day - NEVER EVER turn your back on Him but always seek His ways, which are always perfect and right.
The object of the picture tag is to: 1) Choose the 4th folder where you store your pictures on your computer. 2) Select the 4th picture in the folder. 3) Explain the picture. 4) Tag 4 people to do the same and NO CHEATING! (cropping, editing, etc!).
So here is mine. EXPLANATION: Cutting our wedding cake - I don't think any other explanation is needed.
I tag MARME - KYLAH - SARAH and MISSY
Thank you Melissa for tagging me. Miss seeing you!
Each day I read my "Helen Steiner Rice Daily Devotional Calendar". Here is today's thought: "With our hands we give gifts that money can buy, Diamonds that sparkle like stars in the sky, But only the heart can give away The gift of peace and a perfect day. Helen Steiner Rice"
May the Lord give strength to His people! May the Lord bless His people with peace! Psalms 29:11
Today, ask yourself, "If I were giftwrapped as a package for Jesus, would He be pleased to receive me? Do I concentrate too much on the OUTWARD wrappings and not enough on what's INSIDE?"
Happy Thanksgiving! We had a good day and are so thankful for all of the wonderful blessings that have been poured on us. I do not have enough words to express my love and appreciation to our God for His goodness to us in our lifetime. He has never failed us and will not! Donnie was also with us, but left before I could include him in the pictures.
We had family! What a wonderful time - only upset was our Nr. 1 Girl could not be with us. She had school "stuff" and couldn't come along. It was hard telling them goodbye this morning, but we are so thankful that the trip is much quicker and can be more often since we moved to SA. We had a good visit and enjoyed having the angels for a few days. Praise the Lord for our family!
Another birthday! It's so hard for me to believe that my babies are all grown up men. On 18 November - just a few short years ago, or so it would seem - our first baby boy was born. After a difficult pregnacy and a not so fun delivery, we got our beautiful baby boy that we had longed for. A little boy! That is just what we wanted, and that is just what we got. We are so very proud of the man he has become - a good son, husband, and daddy and a Godly man that loves the Lord and serves Him! We love you so much Cliff and may you have a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY - happy 29th!
Happy Birthday to our son, John (Pastor John). A few years ago on 15 November, we were blessed with another baby boy. He has been such a joy and a blessing to us and we can only thank the Lord for giving us this child. We are proud of the man he has become and the wonderful dad he is to his children, and husband to his wife. We love you very much son!
Happy Birthday to our pastor! We are so blessed to have a minister like Pastor David. God bless you (my other son) and may Christ keep you very close to His heart.
Happy Birthday to our girl - Leasa. Today, 23 October is her birthday and I hope it is a very happy day for her. She's very special to us and is so very good to both of us. We love you Leasa.
Welcome home Special Angel! I have nicknamed all of our grandchildren Angel with another "word" in front or back. Our Special Angel arrived in San Angelo this week. He's so very special because while he wasn't born into our family, he got into it as quickly as possible. We met Donnie when he was 12 years old. I'm so proud of what God is doing in his life and just know that God has something really great in store for him do do for the Lord. Please remember to pray for our Donnie.
Just for the record - here are the Angel names for our ten grandchildren: 1, Special Angel 2. #1 Angel 3. Goofy Angel 4. Angel Britches 5. Ornery Angel 6. Busy Angel 7. Sweet Angel 8. Sunshine Angel 9. Precious Angel and last but not least 10. Dimpled Angel!
Today my seven-year old Sunshine Angel was watching as I cut out a pattern for a skirt. We were talking about sewing and the work involved when I ask if she knew that I had made her Aunt J's wedding dress. She said "Baca will you make my wedding dress?" I answered "Sure, if I'm still living." She then looked at me with those big blue eyes of hers and said, "Well Baca, could you make my wedding dress next week, because then if you die, I'll have it ready for when I do get married." How I love, love these angels of ours!
After reading the third story book to my little four year old grandson, he fell asleep in my lap. After sleeping for an hour, he started stirring so I started humming. In a sweet, sleepy little voice he said "I'm tired of that song, fast forward." And he slept for another 30 minutes.
13 September 2008 - we celebrated the 7th birthday of A - my Sunshine Angel. What an exciting time for her; so many smiles and such fun. I'm so proud of ALL my angels. Again today, I say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my ARC! (it's OK to stretch it out for more than one day).
When I wanna see snow - I look at pictures of our home we had in IL. I remember having snow on the ground for three months! I love looking at the pictures - but do NOT, again......DO NOT miss living where it comes floating down and covers everything.
My Sunshine Angel and I are thinking Christmas. We made Christmas angels and I didn't think to get a picture of A's before we took it to her home. Here's mine.....We have such fun doing things together.
OK - KJHK - this is for your blog concerning your destruction of the Carrot Cake/Cheese Cake! I just HAD to find a recipe and that I did. Here's pictures of what I came up with! It is totally delicious! Come see me?
Recently a very darling friend brought me a "gag" gift and I love it so much, I just have to share with my blogging friends. Hope you get as many laughs as I have - ENJOY!
Recently someone approached me about "doing" a teaching "cooking" class here in my home. I've given it a lot of thought and ya know - it might be fun. Would any of you be interested? Give it some thought and then, tell me what you would want to learn - maybe look over some of my recipes on www.JuliaTheChildsRecipes.com and see if one of those might interest you. Next - when would be the best time - day, evening, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri???? Feedback please!!! Hugs, Baca
Happy Anniversary to our children! On Tuesday, 19 August 2008, Edward and Brenda will celebrate their 13th Wedding Anniversary. We pray that they will grow closer to the Lord and to each other in the years ahead; and may they know how much we love them and care about them as they celebrate this anniversary. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY EDWARD AND BRENDA. May you have many more and may God's richest blessings be upon you and your precious children.
Happy Anniversary to Cliff and Jane. Today is their 19th wedding anniversary. We are so proud of who they are, their love for each other and the stand they have taken for serving the Lord and teaching their children. We love you so much - our son and daughter!

Happy Birthday to our grandson, Phillip who is nine (9) years old today - 2 August. All of our grandchildren are my angels and Phillip is my "Busy Angel". Have a wonderful day Busy Angel; we love you very much.
Happy Birthday to someone that is very special to me! I am so thankful that God has placed her in my life. She is a Godly example and a sweetheart to all. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARME! I love you!
What fun! At the lake on the 4th of July. Thank you over and over again Wilma and Weldon for allowing us to enjoy the 4th of July at your home for our SAFA celebration. I captured lots of pictures, but have provided a slide show of just a few for you to enjoy.
Our angels from Olmito came for a week visit and together with the SA angels, we had a wonderful, fun time. The cousins played together and had a great time. We went to "Photographer's Alley" and on over to the train for family pictures; next for a time of sliding down the hill on flattened boxes at the Visitor's Center and last to Christoval for a cooling down time at the river. Back home for a meal and then the kids and grandkids went for a game of bowling. This was all on Sat, the 5th of July.
I told you that my sweetheart and I built a house and didn't have one little cross word! Here's a couple of pictures of the finished product (the first picture is close to the true color) and also one of "little angel A" that received it. Our "oldest girl angel T" never, ever asked for a doll house and the "baby girl angel LA" has a huge one that belonged to her mom when she was a little girl. "Angel girl A" ask for one and because I had a 40% off coupon for the store, we got it for her birthday. It certainly took lots and lots of work to get it all together for her; but it truly was a lot of fun and I hope she enjoys it for years to come.
We have the most wonderful 13-year old grandson named Joshua - the best in the whole world. He bought me this delightful cell phone and I just had to share pictures of it with you. I love Joshua's sense of humor and his funny way of seeing most things in life. As my "daughter" tells me "He's your boy, Mother". Love all of my precious angels and Praise the Lord for our kids, both older and younger.
Glen Rose here we come. This weekend is my mother-in-law's side of the family's reunion. We always look forward to this time of the year. These folks may be up in years but they are not old in spirit - such fun. My sweetie and I went out today and purchased our water guns, shooting up to 70 feet. My kids had best watch their backsides! I'm after them!!! Started preparing food and freezing it today to take; will do a Cheesecake tomorrow and freeze, then cobbler and bread on Thur. We'll leave right after I have my appointment with the surgeon on Fri morning. All of our kids and family will be with us and how we look forward to that time. Ya all have a good weekend!
Because of folks going on vacations and lots of exciting events happening, we'll dismiss the Blab and Gab Thingee for June and July and resume in August.
Surgery is over - PTL. Just wanted to share a slide show of what MY GIRL brought to me. How I love this special girl of mine. Nothing like flowers, ice cream and a visit to make a body feel so much better. Thanks for your prayers ya all!
Just Me and Thee now in our home. The mother of three sons, three daughters (married to each son, making them my daughters) and bacamama to ten grandchildren. I'm so thankful for my precious husband and children. God is so good to me!
