Where has the time gone?

Almost a year since I last posted anything. I think I need to get back in the swing of things. I do manage to get some recipes posted, but have been very slack in this blogging business. I'll try to make a short version of a long year.

Oct '09 - My girl, Leasa had a birthday and we celebrated - had a fun time, as always. She is a fun girl and the wonderful part......I know she loves me also.

Nov '09 - Two of our sons celebrated birthdays - John and Cliff - since John lives close we were able to celebrate with him, but Cliff lives away so it was a phone celebration with him. Love my boys!

Dec '09 - Our girl, Jane (she loves me also - ain't life sweet?) celebrated a birthday and also Donnie. Christmas time was in this household and at some time or other, we were able to enjoy all of our kids being home. Was not able to manage a family picture and was so sorry about that. Love all my kids and love being together with them, even if it is a short visit. We tried to plan things around Leasa's work schedule - but all in all we had a wonderful visit together.

Jan '10 - A new year! Brenda had a birthday (she is recovering well from her cancer surgery). Also our first born grandson, Robert - reached the old age of 17. Does not seem possible. He's now considering college.....Oh My!

Feb '10 - Our grandchildren Stephen, Taryn and Trenton all celebrated birthdays in this month. Our firstborn granddaughter, Taryn is now a teen!

Mar '10 - Joshua - our second born grandchild had a birthday and is now 15.

Apr '10 - Our youngest granddaughter, LeAnn is now seven years old. My sweetheart had a birthday and I had a celebration for him, which he totally enjoyed. He is now 70 years young. We also celebrated another anniversary.

May '10 - Our youngest grandson, Jaydon is now six years old and full of life.

Jun '10 - Our second son, Edward is now a tad older.

Jul '10 - No birthdays - can we have a sigh of relief for a moment here?

Aug '10 - Our Phillip is now 11 years old. During this month we enjoyed a short trip to Brownsville and totally enjoyed being with our kids! What a wonderful time - stress free and just plain good laughing and having a fun time togehter. The seven cousins seemed to enjoy just being together. If my Aunt Julia (the only Mama for me) would be living, she would now be 109 years old. She was born in 1901 and passed away in 2003. I can still picture her on her couch, her Bible in her old worn hands, and a cup of coffee on the arm of the couch - she knew the Word. Good memories. She was the very best cook in the whole wide world - she could make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich taste like a gourmet meal!

Can I tell you that I am blessed? I have been blessed and truly have to give all praise to my Father - my heavenly Father. I will never know why He chose me to bless so abundantly, but He has and I praise His holy name forever and ever.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALANNA

Our little Sunshine Angel, Alanna Rose, had a birthday the 13th of Sep. She started celebrating on Fri and it seems to be on-going for her. We are always so pleased that she wants us included in the events, to be with both the very young and the older. Alanna....we are so proud of who you are and are so thankful to see you having such a tender heart. Seeing you loving Jesus and living for Him means everything and we pray you will always stay as close to Him as possible. We love you very much and want you to know we appreciate every little thing you do for us - you are always so thoughtful of Bacadaddy and Baca. Thank you!

Happy Birthday

It would seem that my blog has gone by the wayside! We have had company, but still - I should have found time to wish our sweet Phillip a very Happy Birthday - the 2nd of Aug, he was 10 years old. We talked to him, but I do want to let him know by BLOG that we love him so much, and we are so very proud of him. He's growing up much too quickly! I must tell you that this grandchild is one of the most polite young boys....he's so very quick to say "Thank you"....."Yes Sir"....etc., and I am so proud of this grandson. I believe he will grow up to be an amazing young man! We pray for you daily Phillip and we love you very much.

Today is our son, Edward's birthday. He has gone through some rough times, but we are so proud of the stand he has taken - and that is totally trusting God. God has so richly blessed this son with a very beautiful singing voice and he uses it for the glory of God. I have never heard him grumble about the hard times but will tell you that he is trusting God. He's had good times throughout his life and been blessed in so many ways. I am proud of this second son of ours and want him to know that we love him very much and pray that God richly blesses him in all the days to come. Happy Birthday Edward and we love you and pray for you much! We are proud of the man you are!

Happy Mother's Day

May all my blogging friends that are mom's, have the most wonderful Mother's Day ever. If you are not a mom, you have/had a mom and for that you can be thankful - or if for some reason your mom did not raise you......there must be someone that helped you in life that is a mother figure. I did, I had my Aunt Julia and I love her and miss her so much. Someday I will see her again when I go through the curtain to reach the other side and be with Jesus forever! Again.......HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAYDON

Tuesday, 5 May 2009, is a day to celebrate for Jaydon, our youngest grandson. He will be 5 years old on this day. Five years ago our family was totally blessed when God gave us this precious little "Dimpled Angel" Jaydon Zane. If you want a laugh, kinda sit around and simply listen to him and you do NOT have to have a hearing aid to hear him as God certainly blessed this child with a loud booming voice. He is his daddy's own little boy!! We have certainly been blessed by the precious grandchildren God has sent our way and we love every one of them. Jaydon, Bacadaddy and Baca love you so much and are so thankful you are part of our family. Hugs and more hugs to you! May you have a very Happy Birthday and many, many more. May you grow up loving Jesus more than life!!!

SAFA Mother-Daughter-Granddaughter Tea

What a wonderful time we had at the Mother-Daughter-Granddaughter Tea held today, 2 May 2009 at San Angelo First Assembly of God church. Thank you to all the ladies that put this all together - a Number 1 THANK YOU to DeLana for all her hard work, and then to all the ladies that had such beautiful tables all ready for their guests. A lot of effort and hard work went into making this such a special day for the precious moms/grandmoms and granddaughters. Thank you everyone!

YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS

Well, well, well! Would you believe it possible that 45 years ago the earth shook and the heavens trembled? My bible and orchid were dancing right along - in perfect timing. God certainly blessed me with the darling of all men. I know why so many women are so unhappy in their marriage - because I got THE man!!! I praise the Lord that my sweetheart is a Godly example; one who studies the word, prays and listens for God's message. Thank you Merrell for staying with me, putting up with my "stuff" and loving me. I LOVE YOU!! May we have many more years together with God as our guide and giving us direction in all that we do and say.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY SWEETHEART

Today is my sweetheart's birthday. Happy Birthday to my man! How I love him - I can only thank God for bringing this guy into my life and for giving him to me. It was a total God Thing! So many times I don't know what I would have done without him; sometimes I didn't know what to do WITH him! If we have a husband that loves the Lord, serves Him and is in His word at all times; we truly have a treasure straight from God. I do have such a treasure. Praise the Lord for this darling and I can only say THANK YOU to my mother-in-law, Mama for raising this fine man. Without her, there certainly would not be a Merrell. May you, my honeypooch, have many, many more birthdays and may God richly bless you in the days ahead. I LOVE YOU!!!

Six years ago on 6 April, a very special little girl joined our family. LeAnn Elizabeth Crumley! What a precious little angel came into our hearts - especially to her mom, dad and four older brothers. She was our third baby girl in our group of grandchildren - and IS our baby girl! How we love LeAnn - this little freckle faced girl. I called her my "Precious Angel" when she was born, but now that I know her and her personality she should be the "Chatty Angel" - My! How our little darling loves to talk!!! We praise the Lord for this little sweetheart and want her to know her Bacadaddy and Bacamama love her very, very much! HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRECIOUS ANGEL!

Happy Birthday to MY Joshua!

Today, 20 March is a very special day for a very special boy! Happy 14th Birthday to MY Joshua! His mom has told me often - "He's your boy, mother!" Joshua, you are a tender hearted, loving, unselfish, and caring young man. We are very proud of you in all that you do - you are considerate of others and watch carefully over your younger brothers and little sister. You do for others, sometimes things they are supposed to be doing; but you simply do it and say nothing. Your sweet, happy personality draws others to you and they all want to be your friend. Today is a special day for our two Temple angels - Taryn is 12 and Trenton is 11. Same day - one year apart. A great big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Taryn and Trenton. We love you and hope today was wonderful and everything you wanted the day to be. Taryn was our very first granddaughter; therefore, she will always be our Nr. 1 granddaughter. Trenton is our miracle boy and we are very thankful that God brought him through a very difficult time in his life. We love both of them so much!

Date Night

Tonight is a Date Night for John and his little girl, Alanna. I'm really not sure who was the more excited about this big evening. It was such fun taking pictures and watching them leave for the big night. They were joining other dad's with their little girls and I'm sure they are all having a wonderful evening.

Happy Birthday Stephen!

Today is my "Sweet Angel's" 8th birthday. Stephen is probably the most quiet of all the grandchildren. He is such a sweet boy and how I love this grandson. His smile is so tender and his voice is gentle; his hugs are the most wonderful and the delight on his face when he first sees us melts my heart! He's one to snuggle really close and loves to be loved - and I love to love him! What a blessing from the Lord this child is and how I thank Him for this precious grandson. Happy Birthday to you Stephen! We love you so very much.....

Did you all read about our own College Minister - Lennon Noland in today's paper? God bless and keep Lennon, Crystal and the beautiful little angel, Addie, safe and close to His heart all the time. We do love this precious family and are so thankful for a ministry such as this. We will have a college age grandson in a couple of years and I can only pray that he finds and attends a Godly college ministry like this.
